San Marino Castle

$5,120.00

Oil on Canvas 35x35 inch

I simply love this painting. It's one of my recent works and I enjoyed so much making it.

It reminded me of how hard it is to get on top (the castle in this case).

I started by painting the lower relief subjects at first, the fields, roads, then the houses on the bottom right.

That funky effect I added to them was inspired by the energy and movement of the Italian culture; the colorful toppings of pepperoni on pizzas, the unique personality of locals, the high-pitched vocals of the language itself.

Soon enough I was climbing the rocky mountain, passing through its rich in colors vegetation. They make an intersecting connection in between the low fields down there and the rising elevation of the mountain, leading to the castle itself.

Eventually, I was (reaching the top), concluding my artwork. It was a victory on its own to finally be painting the castle, the protagonist of my painting.

It overviews and protects the whole landscape below. It makes an important landmark in Italy's preserved architecture and it plays a great role in the worldwide history of development.

Welcome to San Marino!
